By: Linen Calope Jr.
Altitude is the distance of a place above sea level. This distance affects the temperature of a place. The ihgher the altitude, the lower the temperature and the cooler is the climate of the place. The high altitude places are found in mountainous regions while the low altitude places are found in lowlands.
Mountain Province and Baguio, the summer capital of the Philippines are several thousand meters above sea level; hence, it is cold in those places. Similarly, Andes Mountains, which is also several thosand meters high are covered with snow throughout the year because of its great altitude.
